WHY LED LIGHTS

lighting is a pivotal technology that promises to fundamentally change lighting in the future. It brings two massive advantages compared to existing traditional lighting technologies : Significantly lower energy consumption and much longer life span. Both of these advantages reduce the cost of the lighting products over their lifetime, which is a decent investment and ultimately saves considerable amount of money.

HIGH LUMINOUS EFFICACY

LEDs can convert significantly more of the energy applied into light rather than heat, hence having the high luminous efficacy. Luminous efficacy is expressed as the ratio of emitted luminous flux in lumen (Lm) and the wattage (W) used. In another word it means how efficient a light source is at converting electricity to produce visible light. The higher the lumen and the lower the wattage, the higher the luminous efficacy.

LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION, OPERATIONAL COST REDUCTION

The major benefit of LED lighting is the massive cost saving as a result of significantly low energy consumption compered to the conventional lighting sources. The saving is not only on the electricity but also on the replacement and maintenance costs.

INSTANT ON TO FULL BRIGHTNESS

LEDs light up instantly to full brightness with no restrike delay, as opposed to traditional lighting sources that require heat to warm up the filaments or the use of chemical elements to generate light.

LONG LIFE SPAN

LEDs have an incredibly long life span compared to the conventional lighting sources. LEDs do not burn out like the convention lighting sources do, but instead they light intensity gradually degrade over time. Furthermore, the life span of LEDs and lumen output stay unaffected by frequent switching. Thus no more ladders, no more maintenance problems, and no more hassles.

NO FLICKER, NO HUMMING

Fluorescent lights take time to light up to full brightness and exhibit flickering, a phenomenon that is difficult for the human eye to perceive, resulting in eye discomfort and eye strains. Fluorescent lights is also infamously known for its annoying buzzing/droning noises whereas LEDs light up instantly to full brightness without such issues. LED lighting works the opposite, a little more upfront and a lot less over the long run, creating an on going waves of saving and positive change.

Perhaps even more of an advantage than the considerable energy saving capabilities of these astonishing little marvels is their incredibly long life. The lifespan of a LED is vastly longer than that of incandescent, fluorescent or HID lamp sources: a high quality LED will generally last 70,000 hours or longer.
